It was old stock and from around the 1920's. I had a fantastic jeweler do the basket work you see under the stone that sits flush on your finger - to protect whatever stone someone ultimately sets in the ring. I love it but I've decided to go back to my original yellow gold that I got married with.
If I were a rich girl I'd keep both but I'm not so I'm sacrificing this beauty to go to someone who will put it to good use and wear it with love. The stamp of platinum went away when i sized it down but my jeweler confirmed it is a great sturdy platinum. The stone for the center can remain what it is or you can have your jeweler help find the stone you want and re-set it. There are eight prongs and of course they will need reworked if you put a different stone in it.The size that will fit should be verified with your jeweler but I believe a 10mm to 11mm is what I have in it right now.
